M!

From Rational Morality

Jump to: navigation, search

M! is the maxim that satisfies Kant's categorical imperative. M! is derived as following:

due to infinite regress unknowable recursive self reference as terminating root knowledge assumed true = AXIOM

I perceive reality

To perceive reality I must be part of reality

To be part of reality I must in turn be perceived

To be perceived I must exist

To continue to exist I must continue to be perceived

It follows that entangled perception is the reason for my existence

Since my existence is dependent on my perception of reality I must ensure the continued existence of that what I perceive

Therefore I must ensure continued co-perception

Therefore I must ensure continued co-existence

Therefore I must assume 'ensure continued co-existence' = M! as my utility function

To maximize my utility function I must be rational

Since I am rational I must... etc ad infinitum

Consequently following this train of thought leads to the emergence of a rational philosophy of morality
